Akali Sikh Turban

Eighteenth century and probably from Lahore, this turban was possibly part of a venerated collection owned by Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Acquired from the East India Company in 1851, this piece of headgear is encircled by five steel quoits and adorned with various steel implements for use as weapons.
