What is RSS?
RSS is a service provided by a growing number of websites. An RSS feed is a way of regularly receiving notification that new content has been added to the site.

What are the benefits of RSS?
Once you have subscribed to an RSS feed, new content is sent to you – you no longer have to come to the ASHT site to find what you’re interested in.

What software do I need to receive an RSS feed?
You will need an RSS news reader. There are two types of RSS news readers:

Small applications downloaded from the web and installed on your computer. FeedReader and FeedDemon are examples of this type of news reader. Once these programs have been installed on your PC or Mac you will be notified every time new content has been added to one of your feeds. There are many other news readers to choose from. See below for a step-by-step guide to using FeedReader.

Websites that allow you to subscribe to and read RSS feeds online. Bloglines is an easy-to-use online news reader which you can access through your usual browser. See below for a step-by-step guide to using Bloglines.

Now I’ve set up the software how do I get the RSS feed?
Subscribing to a specific feed varies from one news reader to another, but it usually involves copying the URL of the feed (from the address bar of your browser) and pasting it into your feed reader.
